The Missing Children/ Child Exploitation Coordinator post is based in the Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer Service.
As part of Suffolk’s response to safeguarding children, you will play a key role in working with partners and CYP designated leads to ensure an effective multi-agency response to the prevention, identification and disruption of child exploitation. You will work across Children and Young People Services (CYPS) and the partnership forming a co-ordinated response to children who go missing from home or care and those who are linked to exploitation.

Your role and responsibilities
- you will work in partnership to ensure that agreed actions made in various forums are progressed to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people who are linked to exploitation and those who are missing, focussing on the disruption and safeguarding needs of that child
- work with identified personnel to develop systems and processes across CYPS and provide a focal point for Family Support, Social Care, Disabled Children and Young People, Leaving Care and Youth Justice Service so that we are responding to all children who are missing and linked to exploitation
- working in partnership with the Safeguarding Manager, Missing Children/Child Exploitation Co-ordinators and partnership colleagues to strengthen and develop systems for all children missing and linked to exploitation in Suffolk
- coordinating the administration and contributing to Multi Agency Criminal Exploitation (MACE) meetings, Contextual Safeguarding Conferences and other strategic meetings relating to missing children and those linked to exploitation
- work with others to develop administrative responses which enable, scrutiny, monitoring, review and tracking of those children who are missing and linked to exploitation.

You will need
- to demonstrate a high level of competency in IT packages, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- proven interpersonal skills
- comprehensive understanding of legislation, guidance and national policies linked to missing and exploited children
- knowledge of principles relating to information sharing and data protection governance
- experience in multi-agency and partnership working
- ability to analyse data to produce management information and regular written reports to multiple audiences.

The team
There are 2 Missing Children / Child Exploitation Coordinators who work closely together across the county of Suffolk as part of the Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer service who:
- work with the safeguarding strategic Lead, Safeguarding Managers and other designated individuals to achieve a co-ordinated response to children who are missing and/or are linked to exploitation
- offer advice and guidance to a range of audiences (CYP professionals, partners and third party sectors) regarding procedures, processes, and signpost where necessary.
