We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Maintenance Surveyor at Advance in Leicester and surrounding areas. Advance is a specialist supported housing association that is on an exciting journey to deliver more services and develop more housing for people with learning difficulties, disabilities and supporting people towards greater independent living.
The role will include:
As a Regional Maintenance Surveyor you will be working as an integral member of the maintenance team and will provide technical advice to improve quality standards of the responsive repairs, void repairs, cyclical and planned services. You will also be responsible for surveying and managing the repairs/planned/cyclical/compliance works in partnership with our appointed contractors. Key responsibilities include assisting in the management of local contractors to ensure the supplier delivers to agreed customer satisfaction and quality KPI’s and ensuring projects are meeting performance targets and budget.
About You:
As the successful Regional Maintenance Surveyor, you will have:
- Manage annual maintenance programme for a regional area, ensuring quality, performance, and good communication with staff, stakeholders, and residents
- Act as Contract Manager for regional responsive, cyclical, and planned maintenance contracts, monitoring contractors for quality, performance, and value
- Oversee compliance and Health & Safety works, including gas servicing, legionella, asbestos, fire safety, and electrical certifications
- Conduct periodic stock condition surveys and update property databases
- Provide expert technical advice and inspect/diagnose repair issues, ensuring quality and performance targets are met
- Organise and implement works such as aids & adaptations, property improvements, and major repairs in line with relevant guidelines and regulations
- Oversee repairs and alterations to office premises
- Manage customer complaints, ensuring prompt inspection, resolution, and responses in line with policies
It is important to be able to work closely and collaboratively with others as part of a team, but also be able to work on your own initiative and take decisions when required. The ability to communicate effectively with staff, key stakeholders and residents regarding maintenance activities is essential.
Please note this is a regional role and the region’s properties are widely dispersed across Leicester with areas around Birmingham, therefore you must be a driver with access to your own transport.
