Fancy a new challenge? We are looking for a band 7 ward manager on a 1 year secondment to lead SEUD side. D side has 24 beds consisting of 12 urgent care beds and 12 surgical beds. It is a fast paced area caring for patients with a wide variety of emergency surgical and medical conditions, including pancreatitis, bowel obstruction and sepsis. In this busy and innovative ward, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional with the passion and drive to lead the existing team to provide the highest quality care to their patients.
The successful post holder will work very closely with the Ward Managers across SEU, our medical team and all health care professionals. You will be expected to provide clinical leadership to the nursing staff, whilst ensuring that an efficient nursing service and a high standard of patient care is maintained. As this post is to work alongside an existing band 7 team, we would welcome applications from experienced band 6’s wishing to develop into a band 7 Sister/Charge nurse.
Applicants must have excellent customer care, communication and interpersonal skills and be flexible and able to adapt to and support change in this growing and developing emergency environment. We are able offer a wide range of opportunities and training to support personal development needs.

The ward sister will be a highly experienced, knowledgeable clinical leader, who provides clinical and professional leadership and support to the ward team.
Acting as a role model the ward sister will promote and monitor safe and effective practice.
The ward sister will develop the ward team to ensure considerate and compassionate care is delivered by a competent workforce.
The ward sister will work with the Matron and Operational Service Manager to develop processes to enhance the patient experience.
