Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to: Provide Mental Health assessment, routine and urgent, including risk assessment and formulation of the mental health and treatment needs for referred patients, acting as care coordinator. Provide recommendations for maintaining maximal employment, applying an occupational health matrix. Make decisions to determine if patients require further intervention from the mental health teams (DCMH/PWS), including admissions to inpatient services. Participate and advise in the pre-admission assessment pathway, facilitate patient pathway to DCMH to ensure continuity of care in the patient pathway. Participate in the provision of mental health and wellbeing promotion activities in collaboration with the rehab teams in DMRC. Direct line-management of junior staff within the PWS which may include both clinical and non-clinical roles. This includes responsibility for the annual appraisal process. Provision of clinical supervision to other clinicians with the PWS and on a case-by-case basis to clinicians working elsewhere in DMRC and broader Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) services (e.g., DCMHs).
