What will you be doing? You'll need to be inquisitive and willing to spend time finding out what it's like from the individual’s point of view to live in the setting that they do and build knowledge to improve the quality of living for the people that live there. You'll need to have excellent observation skills to spot strengths and notice what's lacking and let the facts drive your ability to give constructive feedback and provide evidence based, proportionate recording. Your curiosity should also mean that you enjoy keeping up to date with current good practice, doing relevant research and building your own knowledge.
This is not your typical team - there will be an opportunity to broaden your own skills and training by working alongside people and professionals in a coordinated approach. Completing Social Care Assessment, Mental Capacity Act Assessments, Continuing Health Care checklists and attending Decision Support Tool meetings, completing Safeguarding Enquires and engaging with Advocacy Services will be part of the role but you do not need to be an expert, full training and support will be provided.
There will be an occasional need to support working out-side of core working hours (early morning / late evening) and support over weekends. This is only occasional due to potential provider failure or emergency situations.
About youExperience or a willingness to work with a variety of partner organisations is vital to working in this team and you'll need to enjoy networking and influencing others to see things differently. You will be able to work autonomously and have the flexibility to manage your own workload in a way that allows you to work from home, an office base and the residential settings.
Most of all, you put the individual at the heart of everything and you ensure their choices are being respected and supported.
To apply, you must have:
• Level 3 qualification i.e. A level’s grade A-E, NVQ or equivalent and experience of working in Adult Social Care Or Level 4 Degree level qualification or equivalent.
• Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently.
