1 INTRODUCTION This 12-month post is ideally suited to an individual who will have completed Core Training CT) or equivalent and wishes to enhance their surgical experience and portfolio prior to Specialist Training application. Provision could be made for an excellent candidate who has completed FY2 and wishes to enhance portfolio prior to CT application. The post-holder will join the other Core Trainees on the General surgical on call rota and gain valuable experience in all aspects of acute and elective surgery. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in elective theatre lists and clinics across the specialties- Upper GI, Lower GI, Vascular, Breast and Urology.
